I was not going to post until we got to French Polynesia,
but we were invited to the captain’s dinner last night and thought I would post
a couple of pictures that Steve took.
On the World Cruise, on each formal night, the captain
invites about 60 of those doing the whole world cruise to have dinner with him
in the Pinnacle restaurant (specialty restaurant). Our turn was last night. We
met him and his wife Karen at the cocktail party preceding dinner and found out
that they live about a mile from us in Merritt Island and that they have a boat
for sail. It is bigger than we were looking for (32 feet), but the price is
real good and we know that he took good care of it. If it is still for sale
when we get back we will take a look at it. They said they would love to take
us out in it.
The restaurant holds about 65 people at many small tables,
but for some reason we were seated at the captains table and I was assigned to
sit next to him. There were two couples that we met before the cruise from
Florida, and low and behold, the husband (Jerry) of one of them was across the
table from me. Steve was at the other end next to Karen with Jerry’s wife Kathy
across from him. The other picture is of a bird that was on the deck this
morning when we went for a walk. I think he felt it was easier to bum a ride
than fly home.

wow, it is a small world indeed. Looks like a great night!
