Day 10 - 14 – January 14 - 18, 2015

Well yesterday was our 5th day at sea as we go through the Pacific. We are blessed with very calm seas for these 5 days. Three more to go before we get to French Polynesia. I came down with a cold, but feel better today. Many people have colds with going from the cold air conditioning to the outside, so better to get it during sea days than when in port. For a few days over the Pacific we had no Internet as the captain said our smokestack was blocking the signal, so he had to do a zigzag.

Every day there are great lectures on the ship about the area that we are in. We usually do not go to listen to them live, but listen to the replay in the late afternoon in the cabin. Yesterday we received an invitation from the captain to have dinner with him next Tuesday. He invites all the world cruisers to dinner each formal night and we are in the next group. He lives in Merritt Island so we will mention to him that is where we live also.

I have included some pictures from around the ship. There are some of the room with things we brought to stay organized. One is the shoe rack I hang on the bathroom doom, and put all sorts of odds and ends in each shoe holder. Also, my laundry basket is great. It folds to a small flat circle, and when open has handles to carry it down the hall. Only the back of the door is metal (newer ships have all walls of metal) so we keep out schedules on the back of the door. Those of you who worked at the U will recognize the clips that I am using to hold the stuff on the door. I have also included a picture of our laundry. Also included are pictures of the pool, some bars, promenade where we walk, our balcony, a formal dinner, the Seattle/Green Bay watermelons and the dining room on tropical night.

We have gotten into a schedule of walking, breakfast, team trivia (our team does not do well), lunch, shower, dinner, show. In between this we read, play cards, go to lectures, talk with friends, and keep up on our stuff. Yesterday they had both football games on in the movie theater.

  1. fun to see the photos of the ship. The promenade deck is beautiful - much better than the Norwegian Epic (non-existent). Beautiful formal picture of you two & nice selfie Steve!
